A revenue suggestion

We mock the gun-nuts who own five or six assault weapons and a couple of thousand of rounds of ammunition, but they are nothing compared to our nation, with a military larger than all the rest of the world combined, and the capacity to destroy the world five times over. Come on, people, who's really crazy here?

As Smedley Butler told us years ago, the military exists to advance the agenda of the rich. Our "Department of Defense" is really the "Department of Commerce," since we use our military to line the pockets of the rich. "Income redistribution?" The real income redistribution is how we have diverted taxpayer money into the pockets of the wealthy armaments contractors.

Thus, I propose a modest suggestion for increasing the revenue: for every dollar spent on the military, the top 10% of wealth-owners need to cough up another dollar of revenue. The GOP wants us to couple a dollar of cuts with every dollar of spending. Consider this a counter-proposal.

You want your bayonets and horses? Then pony up.
