My take-a-way was that the movie did not show torture as being an important, critical element to our intelligence. But the Lamborghini sure got results.

(8,275 posts)These "fast and furious" type movies are challenging to follow. Each tidbit of dialog is foreshadowing of the bigger store and can lead to a key story line.
I am a soon to be 69, and a white anti-gun, anti-violence, peaceful person, who thought the movie brilliant.

(27,461 posts)I don't hate the movie but nothing I've heard about it makes me want to see it. Even the people that say they like it don't seem to have enjoyed it very much.

The CIA agent became obsessed about the courier because lots of middle level people could identify the courier BUT all of the TOP level people said that they never knew of him. (See SH in The Case of the Dog that Didn't Bark).
It was having lots of miscellaneous conversations and using deductive reasoning that made the difference.
Once they became convinced that it was worthwhile then they broke out the Lamborghini.
