Plouffe tells Crowley: ‘This false equivalence needs to stop’

DrLearnALot ‏@DrLearnALot

It does need to stop. RT Plouffe chides CNN’s Candy Crowley: ‘This false equivalence needs to stop’ | The Raw Story

like this:

“It’s hard to see a president calling for unity when he is suggesting that people who disagree with him don’t disagree with him on policy, but disagree with him because they care more about the NRA or they don’t care — in the case of the debt ceiling — whether the country falls into recession again,” Crowley charged.

“Well, on the debt ceiling, it’s the truth,” Plouffe pointed out. “Think about this, Candy. For the first time in our country’s history…”

“Just reminding people that the president himself, when he was in the Senate, voted against the debt ceiling,” Crowley interrupted. “So these people that he’s suggesting want the country to go into default are doing the same thing he did when he was a senator.”

“No,” Plouffe replied sternly. “He did vote against it, he’s spoken to that. That’s a political vote and he’s learned from that. But at the time, Congress wasn’t threatening to say we’re not going to pay our bills unless we get what we want — deeper cuts in Medicare than are required — or we’re going to tank the economy.”

“I mean, this false equivalence needs to stop,” he added. “The barrier to progress here is not the president. We need more Republicans in Congress to think like Republicans in the country who are seeking compromise who are seeking balance because we are poised here to really grow.”

some may Look friendlier, but they just want the ratings above all. They will Not talk about anything that isn't the talking of the day that is usually given to them by a dirty repug and they run wth it like dull children. They will ignore what is happening all over and spend the entire fucking day talking about the same god damn thing with 14 different show like nothing else exists or matters but what they are spoon fed.

What a bunch of morans. The whole lot.

Whether it stops or not(it won't).. but, it needs to be said over and over again. And, maybe someday it will sink in more. We won the election didn't we? In spite of m$m..

I'd like the day to come when the US corporatemedia is obsolete because they self-imploded on their "both sides do it" meme.

Thanks bigtree

gone along with looking forward. All things are not equal. It doesn't stop me from wanting it to be so, nor does it stop any of us from looking back and left wondering, why? Nothing is as it should be.

TY for that link too, I was not aware of this, and if Democracy Now weren't the presenter, I'd question that.

The documentary was screened before the European Parliament and on TV.

There were calls for an investigation.

Our media ignored it.

They were busy competing with each other about who could come up with the best looking waving American Flag graphic.

...that David Plouffe stood up to her. The MSM talking heads usually intimidate him and rolls him over. All Democrats need to speak up to the MSM from now on. No Mister Nice Guy anymore. Fuck 'em. Teach them the meaning of "Political Capitol". PO probably voted against it before when he was in the Senate, because he knew it was going to pass anyway. Besides, how many times did GW raise the debt ceiling for his unpaid wars for 8 fucking years? All Democrats need to become junkyard bull dogs when they are being interviewed by the so called "Left Wing Media!" Thumbs up for David Plouffe.

interview on ANY of the mainstream Corporate Media outlets. Why? Because their book tells the truth: The false equivalency has dominated the political discourse now for decades. They tell the truth that the problem is NOT Barack Obama. It's NOT the Democratic Party. The problem is with the Republican Party. Even the most extreme of the Left has nothing on the racist, looney tune assholes in the Republican Party. The false equivalency shit MUST stop!!!!

its getting better but this is what they need to say.

'obama voted against raising the debt ceiling knowing that it already had the votes to pass, mostly republican votes if i remember right, without him. he voted no to make a point. republicans today who want to vote no, knowing that its already going to be raised anyway, have that right just like obama did.'

The Republicans in Congress are what is wrong with our federal government. Anyone who is being honest with himself has to admit that. The majority of them dislike our President personally and will never support him in anything, unless it were to it be his own resignation. In plain fact, a significant minority of Republicans in the House want nothing more than to shut down our federal government and/or secede from the United States. Screw them all, and screw the billionaires who bankroll their obstructionist careers.

Very hard to point out things to people who ONLY get their opinions from M$M
