Edit: Biden toasted Schumer, Harry Reid will give the Official Toast to the President.
Who else is excited for the parade? I heard Rachel Maddow say that the Hawaii float has a volcano.

(27,709 posts)Thinks he's delaying proceedings - thanks the Biden's, Michelle, the Cabinet, Boehner (hiss now) and Pelosi, Reid and McConnell (hiss now), and recognizes that democracy isn't easy.
It's really too bad he doesn't have his Anger Translator Luther with him throughout these proceedings

- The Pennsylvania float, commemorating the birthplace of Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. It includes a replica of the Liberty Bell and the Pennsylvania state seal.
- The Delaware float, for Mr. Bidens home state, which includes a replica of the bell tower at the state Capitol.
- The Martin Luther King Jr. float, which features an image of Dr. King and a representation of his quote out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.
- The civil rights movement float, which represents movements to advance the rights of immigrants, women, gay people and union workers. It includes one of Mr. Obamas favorite quotes, from Dr. King: The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.
- The Tuskegee Airmen float, a tribute to the first African-American military aviators in the United States armed forces. The float features a model North American P-51 Mustang.
- The Our People. Our Future float, which will reflect Mr. Obamas inaugural theme.

(47,992 posts)all of her girls how to sew, so I love good fabrics, cut, styling, and workwo/manship and how all of that goes together into the right garment for the right person, which is what we are looking at right now.
I like the neckline too, it's unusual and she carries it well. Her hair today balances the proportions of the design in the dress.

Either that or if she is talking to indecisive friends: "Ok, guys, decide NOW **before** I wipe of the makeup cuz after THAT, I'm a no go"!

(22,541 posts)there was a Lesbian and Gay Band Association. That's cool. I'm not really surprised they're from St. Louis. I know a lot of people there. I went to a really cool Catholic church there that is LGBT friendly. Not just friendly, but half the congregation. The other half was great, too.

(90,189 posts)I went to CSPAN and watched the Inaugural over again, though, because I hurried through it this morning while getting ready to go to the doctor about my inflamed shoulder (not a new problem, no worries). This time I was able to really pay attention and enjoy.
