fantastic MLK Day parade in Honolulu/Waikiki today...

the breeze, the sun, 80 degrees 50 feet from the ocean. very funky an down home. disorganized and filled with "marching units" that represented the people of Hawaii. teachers, unions, liberal churches, anti war, pro-peace. the stop the drones float was the best IMO. All honoring things MLK stood for and was killed for. And the only military was a navy marching band.

then there was the "world's largest peace symbol" made of people (no, not soylent green) in the park. the helicopter overhead was taking the official photos, not the fbi. and we were not droned.

then off to the music and celebration in the park and an afternoon of boogie boarding.

all in all a fine day
