OK everybody be honest. Was there ever a moment when you doubted that this day would come?

For me, publicly I never said anything too cocky and overconfident, lest I jinx things.

But privately, I always knew he was a two term president.

so it was more the media whores and of course the republicans trying to prevent people from voting.

but i still felt mostly good about another win.

Problem is Romney had zero moral high ground on Obamacare since he came up with it in the first place. Then he torpedoed himself with the 47% comment.

There was no denying that that first debate was an epic faceplant. Not because his performance would have been, in itself, so bad from anybody else, but because he was capable of destroying Romney completely, and he just sort of... stood there, instead. And the polls reflected that, which really scared me. I absolutely worried after that.

And if it hadn't been for the blessed Nate Silver, I would have worried a lot more leading up to Election Day. The Romney team were so confident, and I'm a weird kind of optimist-about-life-in-general who wants a 99% guarantee before I can really relax. Especially when the stakes are as high as they were.

Thank goodness it all worked out!

Any woman would run screaming from a guy who published/showed her such pictures, because the pictures are the DEFINITION of a guy so self-involved as to be a caricature. How did the Pub leadership not know this? My interpretation is that the whole bunch of them are so self-involved that they have no idea what "self-involved" means. Many voters, I believe, would not be able to articulate this to themselves, but I'd bet they felt weirded out by those photos.

I knew President Obama would be a two term president the day he won Iowa.
(and I am as confident(come back in 8 years and see) that Hillary will be following with 8 more years of President Obama, during which time President Obama will be asked to be US Supreme Court Justice and the court shall be either 8 to 1 or if Roberts gets really bored, 9 to 0.

I went so far as to even predict a House victory. That didn't happen. I was sort of right, gerrymandering has been shown to be the culprit in having so many Repugs in the House.

It was a rough couple of weeks after the first debate though. Some people I know that are conservative leaning were crowing for weeks that Obama was going to lose. All I could say is you are wrong time will tell and change the subject. Or I would go off on what an asshat Romney is.

When I first got wind Romney was going to tank badly was when he played Borat in Europe. Then I thought he couldn't get any worse and my entertainment was over. But, I was so wrong, he got much worse. Then while I was still reeling from how much worse, the 47% tape surfaced and then I knew it was over he would not recover from that and my conservative leaning friends conceded defeat.

One thing I know. This man knows how to run a campaign. And that debate performance? It wasn't planned like that. No. But we don't know the whole story there, either. It sure wasn't because he was overconfident and skipped prep. That is out of character. I think there was some presidenting going on that had to do with Libya and what he found out was really, really devastating. Being the president takes precedence over running for president.

The other thing I know is that this man has had the 8-year plan mapped out from the beginning. OFA changing from one election to the next, never disbanding after the first election; rather, growing and evolving and becoming more involved in the communities. Then the second election comes around and it's already in place, and it hit the ground running. I was never so proud as I was when I got the first call, so incredibly early, and was asked to meet with the head of OFA in my state for a cup of coffee. In my neighborhood!

And now, it's Organizing For Action. We will get our agenda through. Barack Obama had this planned out before he was even elected. It comes from his days as a community organizer. He built on that, made it national, and now he's giving it back to us. This is his gift. He is giving us the means to achieve our goals. The structure, everything. It's wonderful. All we have to do is take it.
