Libertarians Would End Federal Drug Laws and US Interventionism Abroad, Suck

Because they would also eliminate:

Social Security
Medicare
Medicaid
Student Loans
All Environmental Regulations
Head Start
School Lunches
School Breakfasts
Food Stamps
The Voting Rights Act
The Civil Rights Act

What did I miss?

And as for those two we liberals agree should be eliminated, the drug war and foreign interventionism? Well what the libertarians fail to mention when trying to court liberals is they would let states do whatever they wanted with drugs; so if you are in a red state the laws stay on the books and maybe get tougher. In addition to ending unnecessary wars the libertarians would eliminate any kind of foreign aid. Adios AIDS prevention in Africa!

because i would end the drug war and dampen in our imperialistic tendencies does not mean i am a good guy if i am also going to let states return to racial segregation or outlaw all abortions with no exception - as libertarians would.

This much I didn't even know about Libertarians. I never did like their ideology or their party that much, anyway, but I always thought they were at least a cut above Republicans. Like when it came to drugs, I always believed that Libertarians were in favor of making drugs legal nationally. I didn't know that they just don't want drug laws to be enforced federally...
Apparently Libertarians are okay with big government as long as it's done on the state level.

The ADA. Rand Paul has stated pretty clearly that he opposes it.

Even worse..
Zero corporate taxes and no regulation. They want a full on Laissez-faire society where no one is accountable.

that it often goes astray, and the ones who need it never get it....and it sure seems to me like there are a lot of strings attached to the aid.It isn't freely given, there are benchmarks that have to be reached ie; the never ending "war on drugs" and the associated mayhem exacted in it's promotion.

But yes...Libertarians are basically selfish and heartless....putting it mildly.

The most vocal sled professed "libertarians" in the RW have made zero influence on their party on either of these two issues. Where as the middle ground conservative libertarian-lite are only interested in the concept of them paying less taxes, but seem to tote the line on everything else Republican. All of which makes you wonder what is the difference between the Libertarian republican and a normal Republican other than they are too embarrassed to use the term Republican in public. Thus they go about as Tea Party member or libertarian etc... but at the end of the day the same * keeps getting to the surface of the party policy agenda.

We elected Obama and our foreign policy and military spending is essentially unchanged. And the drug war is still raging.

We also see the government continue to expand domestic spying and now increasing in the use of drones domestically and internationally. The government is pouring billions and billions of dollars into the spy programs. Money we really don't have and/or could be put to better use than spying on what web sites we visit and what vacation pictures we are emailing to grandma.

I very much disagree with Obama on this.

Okay, I'm a left libertarian. I believe in economic and social justice, and ending foreign military interventions and the drug war.
