Woman arrested after cruise for 1991 theft

Last edited Tue Jan 22, 2013, 08:00 PM - Edit history (1)

Brevard County Jail records show 41-year-old Robin Hall is being held on an out-of-county warrant.

Hall will stay there until being transferred to Orange County -- possibly on Thursday -- where she was arrested more than 20 years ago for stealing a pack of cigarettes at a local Walmart.

Hall, who was 18 at the time of the theft, says she owes the state $85 in court costs.

She was taken into custody last week after arriving at Port Canaveral from vacation with her family.

When authorities checked the cruise ship's passenger list for terrorists, they found a warrant for Hall.

Jail records don't list an attorney.

I saw this story earlier and apparently this was an out of state warrant from Connecticut. Hysterical that they checked the terrorist list "during" the cruise. Seems a little tardy....LOL

Well I hope Floridians are delighted that their police resources are being used so wisely.....

Can't be ARRESTED after the statutory expiry date.

Anything that's "in the system" and unresolved can bite you on the arse at any time. Many a small time suburban grower has come undone because of unpaid fines.

That's like the bank sending you $.45 worth of mail to tell you you're $.12 overdrawn!

Might as well bury her under the jail, the naughty person.

They routinely spent more money on fighting claims than it would have cost to pay them.

The cruise lines wouldn't be to happy with them taking their $$$ off to jail before the cruise starts.

Orlando mom mistaken for suspected prostitute, jailed after cruise

An Orlando mother was mistaken for a suspected prostitute and arrested after she got off a cruise ship in South Florida over the weekend.

Paola Londono, 31, spent more than 36 hours in a Broward County jail because authorities there thought she was a woman by the same name who was wanted in Osceola County for failing to appear in court.

The wanted Paola Londono, who is 24, was arrested in March by Kissimmee police in a sting targeting online prostitution ads.

Londono was arrested on charges of prostitution, heroin possession and possessing drug paraphernalia. Records show she is also wanted in Orange County in a child abuse case.
