Horrifying Anti-Gay Graffiti Found At Boston Law School

http://www.businessinsider.com/boston-college-anti-gay-graffiti-2013-1

nstead of honoring Martin Luther King Jr.'s commitment to civil rights, some at Boston College Law School used MLK Day to deface the office of an LGBT student group, according to Above The Law.

The legal industry insider blog has a picture of the graffiti, which was spray-painted on the walls of the office of the Lambda Law Students Association at BC Law Schoo

The fact that pranks like this are still happening is a sad revelation about the state of our society, especially considering the recent advancements in gay rights.

Openly gay attorneys accounted in 2011 for 3.6 percent of all lawyers in New York City, a jump from the 3.1 percent reported in 2010.

It wasn't until I saw this picture that I even remembered some of these terms existed. They're not words that I have occasion to use much. But it seems that this person had them all right at his disposal.

Muff Diving become an exclusively lesbian activity? Or cum shots, exclusively homosexual? The racial overtones and the lack of real knowledge indicates this is the handiwork of a very young or very sexually repressed individual.

Most graffiti attacks are fairly slapdash. This one, although seemingly the work of one person (based on the handwriting), was done rather carefully, using multiple colors, lines not crossing each other. Someone has hung the rainbow flag on top of some of the markings. Maybe that was done to establish that this was the gay student center, but its still seems odd. And, apparently, no other vandalism -- not even tossing the seat cushions around or toppling the furniture. I'm not saying it didn't happen -- just that it doesn't look like the typical vandalism scene.

That picture doesn't show any spray paint. That's all done with three different markers, probably dry erase markers taken from a classroom nearby. Yes, that's a minor thing, I guess, but not that minor. If you don't know how to use spray paint for writing words (that is, for most people, if you're not a graffiti writer or construction worker), then it is actually difficult, and messy, and - most importantly - probably doesn't exemplify your handwriting that well. This was done with a marker, so it probably does display the person's handwriting - even if we assume that the block letters were some attempt to disguise (though I doubt that). The "G" in particular is distinctive, and probably actually does reflect the way this person makes a capital G in his or her own handwriting.

rewrite and repackage news -- such as Business Insider -- instead of sites that do their own reporting. The photo of the scene clearly shows something other than "spray-painted," and it shows only one wall. There's no mention of "spray painting" in the original story.

Examiner is the same way, and it drives me up the wall that people cite it as a source here.

the use of the insult has little to do with the victim's sexuality it is no longer an anti gay slur?

Wow that's just fail. FWIW I am white and I have heard white people call each other the N word - especially "Nigga please". That doesn't mean the word is no longer anti African American.

Like I said, the context of the words/phrases here is what matters, and yes they are anti gay in the context of that wall.
