Barack Obama T-Shirt (Apparently) Blasted by Arizona Kids, from Cop Facebook PageThe photo above showing seven young men with guns holding what seems to be a bullet-riddled T-shirt depicting President Barack Obama was, until recently, up on the Facebook page for Sergeant Pat Shearer of the Peoria Police Department.
The photo is captioned, "Another trip to the ranch," and features the comments "Damn it feels good to be a gangsta" and "They look like Gangsta's huh?"

It may be "constitutionally protected" but it's also a *really* bad example for an officer of the law to set.
And am I the only one who noticed the sloppy trigger finger discipline?

(24,331 posts)If it's loaded--and it probably is, with a mag in it when they've just been shooting--he's holding it on an angle that takes it FAR too close to his friend's feet.

(11,304 posts)of nuts out there. They have no shame. The police officer should lose his job over this. Really he should because you never know who that officer could be working with to try and harm the president when he goes to their state. I hope the FBI see this.

(8,556 posts)We used to have a dartboard in the basement with a picture of Bush on it.
I'm more troubled that a law enforcement official was promoting this photo. It would guess posting it on facebook is protected speech and police are entitled to free speech just like anybody else. But I also think it's unbecoming and just plain looks bad.

(8,311 posts)Like it or not, when we speak in public we are representing our professions, etc. My company has rules regarding discussing the company on social media sites for that very reason. And while I wouldn't expect the police department to discipline him for his political speech (which it is, as much as shooting or burning an American flag would be, or throwing darts at Bush), I do hope someone tells him "Dude, that was STUPID...."
Probably already has been told that. Nobody needs bad press, especially police departments who are dependent on good working relationships with the public.

(277 posts)Look at that fat slob with the Just do it T-shirt. They are sending a message to other rabid racist to just do it, as in harming the president. Sergeant Pat Shearer, should get a visit from the SS. I'm sure the SS are sick and tired of these idiot racist and their blatant threats towards the president.

(2 posts)but I would be just disgusted if someone posted the same sort of image with his face on it.
Yeah....it's freedom of speech, but it's divisive, disrespectful and delusional.
And it's no surprise. Just watching the way the Republicans are tearing each other up in their own debates is inexcusable, not to mention the fact that they've stopped saying ANYthing that might actually benefit this country.
(sigh)
