Secretary of State in Ohio Jon Husted is conspiring with Chuck Todd in redistricting ? (Original Post) sasha031 Jan 2013 OP
WTF!? nt octoberlib Jan 2013 #1
The only reform needed is to stop republicans from redistricting. People>Land JaneyVee Jan 2013 #2
Why would Chuck Todd agree with that? Weird. TwilightGardener Jan 2013 #3
Todd needs to be 'redistricted' out of MSNBC. nt pinboy3niner Jan 2013 #4

future initiatives about redistricting. The Dems put one up which lost in 2012 and they are likely to try again. I don't believe for a minute Husted is up to anything but no good but my guess is this is his version of PR.

Right-wingers hate Chuck Todd as much as we do, so he would not find much love on Fox, even if continues to interrupt the President during press conferences and have lunch dates with Republicans.

We need to reform the redistricting system so that corrupt assholes like Husted and his GOP friends no longer have any say in how the districts are drawn.

He asks Chuckie Toad what exactly he agreed to with Husted:

Hey @chucktodd, can you clarify what you and @jonhusted agreed upon today? Thanks.

Shameful if true. Shameful if it isn't true. One of 'em is screwn here.

Because I think redistricting reform is absolutely necessary. But then I'm a troll.

He is well aware that people like him are the reason that Democrats want redistricting reform so what I think he is doing is speaking about redistricting reform himself knowing that Democrats will not trust him when it comes to redistricting and hoping that they will oppose redistricting reform because he supports it. I think he is using reverse psychology on us and we should not let him get by with it.

We need to make it clear, we need redistricting reform to stop corrupt assholes like Husted from rigging our elections.

Todd is a political reporter, regardless of how well he does at it that is his job. Frankly I would expect him to have lunches and dinners and drinks with a wide array of political players from all across the political spectrum. Nothing on the face of it wrong with him having lunch with Husted. The tweet came from Husted, so by definition it is self serving from Husted's perspective. We can't even know for sure that Husted is describing their coversation accurately, whether or not Todd is or is not "in agreement" with whatever Husted believes. And of course the term "redistricting reform means different things to different people. They may agree on the term but not the plan.

Having said all that I don't have much trust for Chuck Todd, he almost always looks for a chance to spin to the right when possible. But we simply don't know enough about their lunch. Given that Husted know made it and part of their discussion "public", Todd needs to clarify what Husted's comments are about given the all of the controversy Husted has been at the center of regarding voter rights.
