The corruption seems to go much past Lance. The International Cycling Union and the U.S. Justice Department are sullied. This story has some legs.

(62,517 posts)the state of professional sports today is rife with drugs both performance enhancing and regular drug use.
They got their pound of celebrity flesh from armstrong. They got their poster child for lying and cheating. Anything after this will be far from the headlines, because if there were an actual real investigation, professional sports as we know it right now would vanish and be replaced with something less sensational, less controversial and most of all not as big a money maker as it currently has become.
there is humongous amounts of money and influence at play here, taking all the publics cleverly crafted and stage directed angst out against armstrong has served its purpose.
don't get me wrong, I'm not defending armstrong at all, what I'm saying is, he's their sacrificial lamb, the others will be also rans and in the end, performance enhancing drugs will just keep on going with little to zero overall change in its us in professional sports.
If there was a massive investigation, much money would be lost and in the end, isn't that what all this is about?
I wouldn't be the least surprised if half the owners of the professional teams and athletes are actively supplying the drugs.
Over amped, weirdly strong athletes win them awards and titles which translates directly into increased sales and money.
Lots and lots of people are willfully looking the other way.

(47,467 posts)How come none of the tests found the various biologicals in his system?
The guy from the Anti-doping group said that Armstrong "got the key." What does it mean? If my blood alcohol is high it will be detected. If I consumed cocaine it will be detected. I think.
So how come these were not detected?
By the way, my spouse speculates that if, indeed, he took all those testosterone supplements that that may have been the cause of his testicular cancer.
