(8,582 posts)you have to wonder, how can the human race expect to survive when their existence is based on one planet to survive on? Something happens to the planet we all base our existence over and the human race just as the dinosaurs all could go into extinction.
Just saying, it could be a good idea for the human race to expand beyond just this one planet.

(37,158 posts)During the Apollo program and the others leading up to it, we had a 70% top marginal tax rate, strong regulation of the financial sector, industrial policy that focused on manufacturing rather than speculation, and politicians that maintained at least the pretense of civility, and actually pulled it off most of the time.
In other words, by the definitions of Newt and his fellow Republicans, we were socialists. (Wonder what the Soviets were?)

(27,439 posts)but I don't believe Gingrich really has any intention of proposing increases to NASA's budget. This was his pandering to the people at the Kennedy Space Center, nothing more.

(10,340 posts)Newt wants to spend billions of dollars to expand the harbor in Jacksonville to accommodate larger vessels after the expansion of the Panama Canal. Nevermind the fact that there is already a very large harbor nearby in Savannah.
