ABC: “just coincidence, really” that they are launching 2 shows based on the b-word

ABC has two new ‘Bitch’ shows

PASADENA — Things got bitchy for ABC here Tuesday, and the network couldn’t have been happier, because it’s optimistic the b-word will help sell two of its midseason primetime shows.

Both network officials and cast members expressed high hopes for two more shows built on low behavior.

The first is “Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23,” a sitcom starring Krysten Ritter and Dreama Walker. Ritter plays the title character and Walker plays her mark who quickly decides maybe being a b---- isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

The second is “GCB,” a drama based on the book “Good Christian Bitches.” Based on five women in Dallas, ABC is hopeful it will fill the comic soap opera void being left at the end of this year by the departing “Desperate Housewives.”

...

ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee told TV critics here it’s “just coincidence, really” that the network happens to be launching two shows whose selling point is the b-word.

There are currently more than one successful band with the f-word in the band name. This makes it "interesting" when the band comes to town, everyone's kids want to go because it's that kind of band, they're wildly successful, and the local papers are choking and gagging trying to write about it without using the band's name.

It's just not tolerable for the public to be able to say things that corporations can't say. As long as curses were used as curses, they weren't relevant. Now that they've become ordinary speech to enough people, commerce HAS to take them up.

It's WAY funnier than the whole Louie, Louie thing with the FBI. And that was fucking priceless.
