Scary& ridiculous.2 Brit tourists tweeting slang & quoting Family Guy arrested by Homeland Security.

The frightening part of this story is that Homeland Security monitors twitter so closely that a couple of tweets using slang for partying and quoting a line from Family Guy can get you arrested on suspicion of being a terrorist.

snip

Leigh Van Bryan, 26, was handcuffed and kept under armed guard in a cell with Mexican drug dealers for 12 hours after landing in Los Angeles with pal Emily Bunting.

The Department of Homeland Security flagged him as a potential threat when he posted an excited tweet to his pals about his forthcoming trip to Hollywood which read: 'Free this week, for quick gossip/prep before I go and destroy America'.

snip

Despite telling officials the term 'destroy' was British slang for 'party', they were held on suspicion of planning to 'commit crimes' and had their passports confiscated.

Leigh was also quizzed about another tweet which quoted hit US comedy Family Guy which read: '3 weeks today, we're totally in LA p****** people off on Hollywood Blvd and diggin' Marilyn Monroe up!

Leigh's charge sheet, alongside a police mug shot and finger print, added: 'He had posted on his Tweeter website account that he was coming to the United States to dig up the grave of Marilyn Monroe.

'Also on his tweeter account Mr Bryan posted that he was coming to destroy America.'

"Illegal immigrant " - 50% of what Republicans talk about.
"Drill" - ... baby, drill.
"recovery" - what they claim they could bring about
"deaths" - as in "panels"
"collapse" - what they claim Euro-socialamalism will do to the USA if Obama is reelected
and a couple of Santorum specials:
"Human to animal" - the kind of marriage that gay marriage leads to
"Trojan" - what no-one should use, at any time, because every sperm is sacred

Maybe it has to do with the horse? Sorry, I just can't think like a DHS person for too long, it makes me paranoid.

Maybe DHS has bots that search email accounts too. But if it were some real neferious plan and they did post on a social media site, wouldn't they use code? Even small time drug dealers use code. This whole article/incident makes DHS look small-minded, rinky-dink and inexorable.

waste of resources.

And if these had been two homegrown American jihadist militiamen, they could have tweeted all kinds of threatening crap and DHS would have ignored them.

WLAC 1510AM in Atlanta continues to run promos saying to "Shoot Nanci Pelosi" and that "Progressives must die" but that's fine...

That's merely Corporate terrorism, and anything done in the name of corporations is a-okay.

The FCC does NOT CARE. The people of Nashville DO NOT CARE. Clear Channel is run by terrorists who broadcast hate and calls for violence, and that's okay by my government and by the people of Tennessee.

All I can hope for is that someone on OUR side with some clout can get a Fairness Doctrine passed.

I just refuse to listen any more. I wrote down the times of the last broadcasts of this violent speech. When I have some resources, maybe I can get something going. But when you're really, really poor, your hands are tied as far as making a stink.

And Nashville's WLAC 1510AM - those heartless, violent thugs - know this. Money and power mean you can get away with calling for murder, and Clear Channel's WLAC 1510AM does so on a regular basis.

all British tweets are monitored which means across the baord monitoring is DHS policy. That is not only outrageous but has also alerted actual terrorists to avoid tweeting.
