Morrissey: "If men were homosexual, there would be no wars"

http://rookiemag.com/2013/02/this-charming-man-an-interview-with-morrissey/

What political causes mattered most to you back then, and are they still important to you now?

War, I thought, was the most negative aspect of male heterosexuality. If more men were homosexual, there would be no wars, because homosexual men would never kill other men, whereas heterosexual men love killing other men. They even get medals for it. Women don’t go to war to kill other women. Wars and armies and nuclear weapons are essentially heterosexual hobbies.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

It seems to me that he is helping the argument that gays should NOT be in the military.

It's really a shame when people expose themselves as being so utterly ignorant of the big wide world.

When Ceasar has a seizure, his slave and Octavian hustle him off to a back room so nobody will see, since seizures were sign of being cursed.

They pass it off by having Octavian slink out of the room in sight of another slave, who assumes the whole to-do was just Octavian and Caesar getting it on, which would be perfectly normal.

He is not talking about his current beliefs, but what he believed as a young person. When he was a young person life was very different and even what was known about gay history or gays in history was not taught.

What were your greatest aspirations as a young person, and would you say you’ve achieved them?

My greatest aspiration was to make it through the coming week. As a teenager I found life to be inevitably disgusting, and I could see no humanity in the human race. When my time in music began, I found all my goals were reachable. For the first time ever in my life, I spoke and people listened. I had never known such a thing previously. My life as a teenager was so relentlessly foul that I still can’t believe I actually survived it. Perhaps I didn’t…

The most political gesture you can make is to refuse to eat animals. It was so when I was a teenager, and is still the case now.

These are the type of people that see themselves as intellectually above the masses.
That is how they get caught in situations where they proclaim maniacal theories.
They get in position to do this because by default they are narcissistic.
It usually and regularly comes from a right wing or rep perspective.

Memo to Steven Morrissey:

Many Spartan warriors were bisexual. Many of them were also, unfortunately, pederasts.

And every one of them could also kick your butt (or mine) in a straight-up fight. Heck, Deadliest Warriror ran a combat simulation of a Spartan hoplite vs. a Japanese samurai and gave a very narrow edge to the Spartan. (Hint: it's the shield.)

I used to hear that if women ruled the world, there would be no more war.
That's bull.
The wars would just have a different cause & motivation, that's all.

Same thing with gays.
They fight just as much as any other group of people.
They fight amongst other groups & even within themselves.
Look at the whole 'LGBTQ' label itself for signs of that struggle.
They can't even come together under one solid inclusive name.
Everybody's jockeying for their particular designation to be recognized.

Gays in the military is nothing new anyway.
Gays fought in ancient times openly & until recently they fought in the modern times secretly.

It's not Gays or Women or anybody else.
It's People.
When people learn to create abundance AND ALSO share this abundance so that no one gets left out, then war will end.
Too much ego in the mix for the human species for this happen anytime soon.
It will remain a hypothetical remote possibility for the time being.
