Do you think the President is effective in explaining what the Repubs are doing to our economy?

Can you think of anyone that could do a better job?

Is there anything he could change to make people pay closer attention?

Is he tough enough on the Republicans?

considering he is fighting the FOX and Rush propaganda machine. Until people know someone that has been put on furlough because of this mess they will not understand. Even then, they will say it is Obama's fault.

I can tell you Oklahoma will be hurting with all the military bases with civilian workers, 90 percent of which voted straight republican. No way will they believe it is the Republican's fault. Crazy people.

I think the media is beginning to say Obama has spent too much time on the road selling this idea. He has a real fine line to walk between educating people on his position and running for office.

we have to start worrying about the 2014 house races as well as the state races gov. state senate etc. If these people get pissed over furloughs at the bases and other places, it would be a good time to point out to them that republicans do not have their best interest at heart. It would certainly open a door to fix the problems at the state level as well as in the house.

nothing matters, nothing will change peoples minds, people don't vote on real issues, the vote on wedge issues. the economy is boring and no one understands it

I do not think most people have any idea what is going to happen. it is going to be devastating. People will not know who to blame, (the whole narrative of who did what when is hard to follow, even when you are paying attention) so they will blame everybody.

The 20% cut for the Pentagon is going to be awful. It's not just a new plane here, or a new tank there. Just a couple of examples: there are hundreds of thousand of children in school on military bases in this country and around the world. The civilians teaching in those schools will have to be cut to 4 days a week. What to do with all those children whose parents work? Hundreds of thousands of other civilians, even in hospitals, will have their workday and salary cut one day of the week.

No, Obama has not explained the consequences in a way that people will believe or understand. He is just not good at that. He is not tough enough on the Republicans, but he is doing better at standing up to them.
