We all know that a deal will be reached where everyone is back-paid for the "cuts" after some sort of backlash. The Repugs will get something out of the deal.
I really wish that the military cuts of 5% were actually permanent. There actually is waste in that budget since there seems to be no accountability even from oversight committees. I'm trying to figure out a way that a deal could be forced to be reached and still keep those budget cuts?
They forced these cuts, yet I think the backlash will be on things that personally effect people. No one is going to say the military needs an extra 45 billion to add to there 500 billion that they still get. I trying to figure out how Obama can say, "You started this and the People want Head-Start and Unemployment extensions etc. Give those back but I won't give back to the military budget".
I realize people working at Navy Yards and others will be impacted (not just "development programs" but shouldn't there be repercussions rather than just a "deal" than eventually pays everyone back and make this not a big fail for the Republicans?
Hard Assets
(274 posts)Permanently revoked by the Executive Order of the President of the United States until they remove the sequester and remove themselves from the House and resign en-masse, giving the House to the Democrats where we can finally pass realistic bills and deep tax raise on where it should hurt the most - defense industry and oil & gas industry.
Minimum wage should be raised effective IMMEDIATELY to $30/hour.
Rich should face a 95% tax increase, effective immediately.
Tax dodgers loses their citizenship, and all assets seized for repayment of back taxes. Then deported on the worst possible transportation out of America across the pond to Hell.

Welcome to DU! Great wish for the minimum wage to be raised to $30, but not too practical I'm afraid. I'd settle for $11.
