What to keep in mind when Romney wins tonight

Simply put, Romney won because he had to outspend Newt. He targeted his appeal at the same idiots who will determine the overall general election, the mushy, stupid so called "independents", aka the Ray-Gun Democrats, who are exactly the sort of people that vote based on what the TV tells them to do. This race will not be won based on any sort of argumant, ideals, logic, it will be won on the basis of who can frighten the weak minded, or appeal to their vanity.

The main hope is that

A) we can avoid the circular firing squad, which includes the "why should I vote" people. Rest assured, if you do not vote, you are placing your fate, and that of everyone you care about, into the hands of some idiot at Wal-mart that obeys the TV. Yes, the value of our votes has been diluted, but as that "Campassionate conservative" W. taught us, todays' "he might not be that far to the right" type can easily become the next Fuhrer once we let them into office.

B) The GOP continues to attack each other, which will start their own bloodletting. That has promise, as, regardless of tonight, there are many in Florida who have zero intenrest in helping Romney:
Jeb sure won't, he is planning on swooping into a brokered convention in Tampa.
Rick Scott won't, as he realizes that the powers that be want to put the Tea Party back in the closet before it embarasses them.
Rubio may like the sound of VP, but he also realizes that he can wait another four years, and try the sound of "President Rubio." He knows he can wait, as he knows that anyone will come to him saying "give us those same Cuban legbreakers and headcrackers that stopped the 2000 recount!"

So, what do we need to keep in mind:
Romney is only as weak or strong as we allow him to be. We can put pressure on him and Obama, using OWS and simpler, more homespun means. However, the thought that "Romney=Obama has to be put to bed, because it comes from the same place as Gore=Bush. Even the most diehard nader voters cannot, with a straight face, say that a Gore presidency would have been as bad as a Bush one: the supreme court proved that in a supreme matter by allowing Citizens United.

Do not forget, Iowa was eager to show it was different than everyone else, while the rest of the country is more like Florida than it is Iowa, for good and ill.

We'll need some spirit on the Obama side to make sure people show up, wait in line, get harrassed about photo id's and actually get a vote counted for the 99%.

I predict that Romney will be the one exaggerating how conservative he is, and how radical Obama is, and Obama will counter this by showing similarities between him and Romney.

It is a warning to all of us who value independent thought. I see it is as one of human being's major weaknesses.....

hell, that's longer than President Obama has run. He has a well oiled machine in place, chomping at the bit. We need to dig in and get ready to fight.
