Heating the building, and paying for electricity, so I could work there was still making me more expensive than people in Costa Rica. China or India.

That always makes you feel wanted. Years of experience, and raving customers? Big whoop.

The call center industry's mantra has become "Suck enough that they stop calling, but not enough that they stop buying." After all, if they buy but don't call, that's $1.75 - $3.00 per computer that goes back into the profit column.
