http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/03/13/fox-news-guest-to-msnbc-hannity-is-so-upset-that-the-economy-is-rebounding/A Fox News guest who took on Sean Hannity for blasting President Barack Obama even as employment
dropped to the lowest level in more than four years reaveled on Tuesday that the conservative host and
others at Fox News are so upset that the economy is recovering.
During a panel discussion on Monday, Hannity talked over Occidental College Associate Professor of Politics
Caroline Heldman as she tried to point to positive economic indicators like that the unemployment rate had
dropped to 7.7 percent and the stock market was soaring.

You know, I have never met a group of people that is so upset that the economy is rebounding than the
folks over at Fox, Heldman told MSNBCs Al Sharpton. I mean, the signs are really clear, not only the
unemployment rate dropping, but housing starts, new housing starts, housing prices, the fact that the
stock market has doubled since 2009, that private wealth has been fully restored But it is getting better,
and we cant be in denial about this because that actually affects consumer confidence.

(482 posts)mantra when conservatives were in office it should be treason when Democrats spoke ill of the economy-as in his words they were purposely creating a environment were people would not spend money by telling them how bad the economy was.
Funny, under Obama he does it nearly every day-scares people into not spending money and telling them home bad the economy is..
fricken hypocrite

they know things are working out and want to stop that ASAP because it kills their narrative

Paul Krugman's NY Times piece the deficit is falling and the stimulus worked

Whats really remarkable at this point, however, is the persistence of the deficit fixation in the face of rapidly changing facts. People still talk as if the deficit were exploding, as if the United States budget were on an unsustainable path; in fact, the deficit is falling more rapidly than it has for generations, it is already down to sustainable levels, and it is too small given the state of the economy.
Start with the raw numbers. Americas budget deficit soared after the 2008 financial crisis and the recession that went with it, as revenue plunged and spending on unemployment benefits and other safety-net programs rose. And this rise in the deficit was a good thing! Federal spending helped sustain the economy at a time when the private sector was in panicked retreat; arguably, the stabilizing role of a large government was the main reason the Great Recession didnt turn into a full replay of the Great Depression.
snip
Now, Im aware that the facts about our dwindling deficit are unwelcome in many quarters. Fiscal fearmongering is a major industry inside the Beltway, especially among those looking for excuses to do what they really want, namely dismantle Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. People whose careers are heavily invested in the deficit-scold industry dont want to let evidence undermine their scare tactics; as the deficit dwindles, were sure to encounter a blizzard of bogus numbers purporting to show that were still in some kind of fiscal crisis.

(32,886 posts)It makes them unhappy because they are desperately invested in the idea that a Republican President is good for the economy, and a Democratic President is bad for the economy.
That he hurt that meme is one of the reasons Republicans impeached President Clinton.
Republicans will do ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING to try to protect this meme.

b) Obama doesn't understand the economy
You can smell their fear and desperation as they are working to kill the economic recovery,
the Affordable Care Act, and the access to the vote for millions of people. Where would we
be if they hadn't been trying to obstruct everything? Such as Obama's American Job Act which
would put millions of people to work doing things that have to get done such as fixing our
bridge.

(13,685 posts)It's either that or they are just brainwashed.
They actually advertised their feelings of wanting a duly elected president of the United States to fail at his job.
And the people just sat on their asses and ate it all up.
