Bernie One-Note: In Second Term, Sanders Stays Relentlessly on Message

If Sen. Bernie Sanders sounds like a broken record, that’s fine by him. In fact, he says, serving as a veritable one-man message machine is a yuuuge part of his job.

“My wife tells me I talk about [the same issues] too much, and I’m a Johnny one-note,” Sanders said last week during an interview in his Capitol Hill office. “And I do know that people feel that way: There goes Bernie again.”

But there’s a reason for the repetition, he says: The poor, the working class, the sick and the elderly are being left behind, while wealthy individuals and corporations are taking larger and larger slices of the economic pie.

“Nobody understands how bad it is,” he says. “That’s why I think if I were on television or radio 24 hours a day saying nothing else other than that, it would be a contribution.”

OK. We've got Bernie and Ms Warren. That's two already. Any other Dems care to join them. ladjf Mar 2013 #2
I hope many more do join them, but am not holding my breath. nt Mnemosyne Mar 2013 #3
