Late-Night Twitter Fun With James O'Keefe!

Late-Night Twitter Fun With James O'Keefe!
Or, it's hard out here for a guy who never posed as a pimp...

Unfortunately, federal criminal and professional liar James O'Keefe apparently decided not to accept my invitations to join me on my live KPFK/Pacifica Radio show this week, after his 'I'm the victim here!' tweets last week following the news of his $100,000 settlement with a San Diego ACORN worker.

He had described media coverage of the settlement agreement as "lies and lies and more lies from journafascists" and attempted to taunt the media to "have the guts" to allow him to tell his side of the story. We took him up on that offer and invited him to appear on The BradCast live! Which is impossible to deceptively edit! (You're welcome, Jimmy!) But until late Tuesday night he didn't "have the guts" to even respond to my generous invitation.

After a second invite late last night, however, I finally heard back from him...

LOL -- and I'm still LOLing that he had to fork over $100,000! No wonder he is bitter! MotherPetrie Mar 2013 #1
Well, we KNOW his side of the 'story'. And we also know Juan Carlos Vera's side. sabrina 1 Mar 2013 #2

I guess he thinks the rest of us are as stupid as he is. Nice to see him upset over yet another loss.

But that settlement was no where near enough to compensate Vera, a truly decent man whose life was destroyed by this small time thug and by the media who should also have been sued btw.

Thanks for the laughs Brad, at least this moron is still good for something, he makes liberals laugh.

"I guess he thinks the rest of us are as stupid as he is."

I think that should be: "I guess he thinks the rest of us are as stupid as his target audience is."

Glad you enjoyed the LULZ at his expense!

5. Which "other suits"?

Gene Iredale (attorney for Juan Carlos Rivera, the ACORN worker from San Diego who just received a $100k settlement from O'Keefe and a $50,000 settlement from Giles last year), says there was another case that settled in PA, but I don't have the details on it.

O'Keefe also had to pay $20k (as I recall) in a settlement with his former employee Izzy Santa after she was fired because she warned CNN's Abbie Boudreau about O'Keefe's "Sex Boat" plot. http://www.bradblog.com/?p=8099

As well, he pled guilty to federal charges after his failed wiretap plot in the office of U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu. http://www.bradblog.com/?p=7860

As to other suits, I don't know that I'm aware of 'em. But we discussed some of the above in my interview with Iredale yesterday on KFPK. http://www.bradblog.com/?p=9921

Baltimore and an ACORN employee filed in PA.

That must have been the PA settlement you discussed.

The Maryland suit was never actually pursued. That was the one filed by ACORN itself, if I recall correctly. The folks I spoke to at ACORN at the time and after had basically said they were struggling for the lives to survive at the time, and simply didn't have the resources to pursue such a case against those head winds at the time.

Not sure what came of the PA case, other than Iredale says O'Keefe settled it. PA has a similar wiretap law as CA, requiring all parties to agreed to be recorded. I plan on trying to learn more about that one.
