Don't you love it how he embraces his ignorance?

3. Oh, stick your "Peace through Strength" horseshit up your ass, Allen.

GOD I hate that right-wing bunk. Their "Strength" did nothing but make this country economically weaker and abolished the notion of peace probably for the next few decades.

4. All war criminals should be prosecuted, including grinning buffoons
Thu Mar 14, 2013, 10:59 AM
Mar 2013

Here's his background:

"Allen West has run for Congress three times, losing in Democratic wave election of 2008, winning in Republican wave election of 2010, and losing again last night in a Democratic wave election of 2012. Being redistricted didn’t help. Nor did being a buffoon.

OTB first covered West in October 2003, when he became famous as an Army lieutenant colonel for being charged with criminal assault for firing his weapon at the head of an Iraqi detainee as a means of enhanced interrogation. Or, as we used to call it, “torture.” Or, as they call it in Geneva, a “war crime.”
...
he wears his military medals, including his skill badges, pretty much everywhere he goes.

Sadly, we’ve almost surely not seen the last of this clown.

I'm also sure he got a standing ovation for that disgusting remark since he is not in the minority. If Eunice Shriver (the guiding force behind the Peace Corp) were still alive, West wouldn't have the balls to say that in front of her-she took no guff from anyone.

........Costa Rica, Samoa, Palau, Andorra, Grenada, Liechtenstein, and Vatican City (all countries with NO military), and countries like Canada and Switzerland (who don't use their militaries to bludgeon other countries into conforming with their way of thinking) are constantly under threat of invasion, right?

Right?

But you can believe he's all for closing VA hospitals and cutting veterans' benefits.

9. "...from the Marine Corps...."?

You mean like these two Marine generals with three Medals of Honor and 10 Purple Hearts between them?

"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious.
I spent 33 years and 4 months In active service as a member of our country's most agile military force -- the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from a second lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period I spent most of my time being a high-class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer for capitalism."

Gen. Smedley Butler, USMC two time Medal of Honor recipient.

"I believe that if we had and would keep our dirty, bloody, dollar soaked fingers out of the business of these (Third World) nations so full of depressed, exploited people, they will arrive at a solution of their own. And if unfortunately their revolution must be of the violent type because the `haves' refuse to share with the `have-nots' by any peaceful method, at least what they get will be their own, and not the American style, which they don’t want and above all don’t want crammed down their throats by Americans. –
Gen. David Shoup, United States Marine Commandant Medal of Honor recipient. (I'm proud to say Gen. Shoup was my Commandant during the first part of my time in.)

11. Not the first time I've heard this sentiment, but I don't think it's really about a lust for power

So much as a reflection of their own inherent lack of self-control. They look in the mirror and realize the only thing that keeps them from running completely amok is external controls on them. He thinks world+dog is like him and the only way to keep him peaceful is at the muzzle of a gun, therefore the entire world must be forcibly submitted.

It's the same kind of mind that says "The only reason I'm not killing these people is because it's illegal" and means it (and yes I've heard that before).
