The Republican PRIORITY is hurting people

Republicans love tax cuts and hate tax increases. I do not agree with them on the particulars, but at least there is some childish sense to it... in the abstract nobody likes tax increases. It would be great if the government could magically run without any taxes at all.

Paul Ryan's budget, however, keeps the tax hikes that finance Obamacare while canceling the Medicaid expansion and exchange subsidies.

So what is wrong with Obamacare is not that it raises taxes.

What is wrong with Obamcare is that it seeks to help people.

Thanks for clearing that up!

in the RW mind. A liking for inertia, they prefer not to do anything that might help.

I can't quite put my finger on what motivates it or if they realize what they're doing.

not to raise their taxes, when they say they will "close loopholes" in the tax code.

In Bush's/Republicans' dictionaries, "closing loopholes", in other words, ending tax breaks, is "raising taxes" ... at least, when it's on businesses. On people, it's called "ending entitlements".
