Parents of man who videotaped Romney’s ‘47-percent’ speech back their son

<snip>

I pretty much agree with everything he said and did,” Scott’s father Ken Prouty said of his son’s decision, which may have impacted the course of history. “Mitt Romney made his bed, and he did this to himself by making those comments.”

Scott Prouty, who lives in Hollywood, Fla., was working as a bartender at the private fundraiser west of Boca Raton where Romney made his comments about the “47 percent” of Americans who he said “are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing…”

Prouty, who grew up in the Boston area, said he didn’t make the secret recording as a political partisan.

He told MSNBC’s Ed Schultz, during an interview Wednesday, that he lost sleep and struggled for weeks before deciding to release the recording to the magazine Mother Jones. But Prouty said he thought it was important that people heard Romney and knew what he was really thinking. His family supports that decision.

“He’s just Scott,” his stepmother Ann Marie Prouty said. “He’s just a smart kid. He’s very intelligent. He’s determined.”

to a better person. He's going to do some work for the man that was also on Ed's show, a name I cannot remember at the moment.
