Put it to rest...

Republicans do not give a crap about a "balanced budget". Rep Chris Van Hollen made a point on MSNBC this morning: If they cared about balancing the budget, they would get rid of the loopholes for the big oil companies. If they cared about balancing the budget, they would get rid of all the tax loopholes for the wealthy.

Instead, Republicans argue that the only way they will vote to close the loopholes is if taxrates are lowered for the wealthy to offset the savings. In other words, nothing to balance the budget. This point, more than any other, shows that they are full of shit.

They would dismantle the MIC. We don't need to spend trillions every year on our military. Cut it down to a manageable size and the budget will be fine in a decade or so.
