Chris Christie, Republican Governor of New Jersey, famously thanked and hugged President Obama during the Hurricane Sandy crisis, and is now persona non grata in the GOP. He committed the ultimate republican sin, being seen to hug the black man in the white house, this to them is worse than being caught with a dead hooker.
This shows once and for all how petty, and childish, and immature and ridiculous they've become as a party. One day Christie is their hero, giving a rousing speech at their convention, the next day, he's a pariah for having the audacity to thank the president for providing emergency relief during a hurricane.
THIS is why the republican party in it's current incarnation is doomed to the dustbin of history. Hug the president and thank him and you are outcast, a political leper, a traitor to the GOP. What would they have preferred the Governor do, spit in the president's face? Assault him physically? How was he supposed to handle it? There's simply no way to make the republicans happy, under any circumstances. Their hatred for the black man in the white house is embarrassing and outrageous, and it's making them more dangerous every day.
Hey Governor Christie, why don't you give up on these assholes and come over to the common sense party? That's right, come on over to our side, the common sense side, come out of your GOP closet, your own party hates you now cause you had the nerve to shake the president's hand, thank him and hug him, an act deemed worse than terrorism by the old white caveman party.

(51,076 posts)I know as I've lived life I've changed as time has passed and I've become more knowledgeable about things and from that I think its very possible that Christy has or could have changed too.
He appears to like the citizens of his state and to me that is a big plus.
I wish I could say the same for our governor but I can't
