1. Seriously? Did she say that?

I don't watch CNN often, so I rarely hear her "reporting." Did she express any sorrow for what those two guys did to that girl? They had a choice. They could have chosen to respect another human being, instead of taking advantage of them and forcing a violent act upon them.

I don't feel sorry for the guys at all, and I hope the girl will be able to put her life back together after this.

The only thing I can think of that Crowley has ever done that was fair was to correct Rmoney when he was trying to lie to the American people during the debate. That is it. Normally, she's a right winger all the way from what I've seen.

All about the poor boys, what will they do? No concern for the young woman they traumatized. She'll have to live with the memories of that night forever.

Pathetic. Reinforces why I don't watch CNN.

Only concern is for how being a registered sex offender for the rest of their lives will affect them. Two young men with such promising futures.

An email to CNN is in order.

Fuck her.

4. I'm a 17 year old boy, and I have ZERO sympathy for these two teenagers....

What they did was wrong, PERIOD. We aren't talking about these two teenagers getting a harsh punishment for vandalism or robbery....they RAPED a girl for God sake.

No wonder sexism is still rampant when someone does not respect their own sex.

These young men totally humiliated and dehumanized this young girl. No ifs ands or buts. All sympathy goes to the young girl.

And a bigger issue is all the people in that town who are complicit in this heinous crime. Hopefully more charges are coming.

CNN has lost any credibility with me for a long time and this is exactly why.

That's when she skedaddled from a previous bent toward Progressive.

Before that time, I usually liked and respected her.

I look back on her supposed favor to Obama in the CNN debate by refuting Rmoney's Benghazi incident statement and now wonder if she did that just to keep him from being embarrassed further.

8. I Cannot Express How Outraged I Was By Watching Candy and Poppy

The heinous, out of control sports culture of this country is on display in this trial as it was with Sandusky from Penn State. That a reporter felt it necessary to describe these defendants as football stars rather than just students in order to gain sympathy for them is telling.

Her other statements included "they had their whole lives in front of them." Well gee, every student has their life ahead of them when they are in high school - especially if they are good students. Good students don't sexually abuse others or urinate on them and then allow the pictures to be posted on FaceBook though. Good students may make bad decisions because they are kids but those generally do not include dragging around a drunk girl and urinating on her. So these "good students" should be prosecuted to the fullest extent to ensure other good and not so good students learn their behavior was unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

What about the life in front to the young woman? Will it be care-free or will she suffer some damage from the incident? Will she, like many rape survivors, have difficulty forming personal and intimate relationships with others in her future?

These two men do not merit any special opinions or treatment because of the lives they may have lost. They do not warrant the sympathy Candy and Poppy display for them. In fact, they warrant more scrutiny and more harsh treatment since they were supposed to be leaders and an example for others. No one wants to emulate the A-student who who is a part of the book club. Most high school students wish they were the star athletes. As long as star athletes are being viewed and treated as gods then they have a responsibility to live up to higher expectations and consequences. It comes with the territory.

It is completely ridiculous to believe these people didn't understand they had a higher social status than others at their school and they could conceive they'd never be prosecuted for their actions. That's the sports society we've created in this country. It is also completely ridiculous for them to not understand they should have treated a trunk girl with care and not with the obvious contempt of which the court found them guilty. Their coaches and parents have a responsibility in this fiasco too. They should be prosecuted as accessories after the fact.
