How To Take On The Gun Lobby.

We looked the gun industry up in the US Census' Annual Survey of Manufacturers. They estimate it only employs 10,000 workers. So that's seven one-thousandths of one percent (0.007%) of the current US workforce?

Yes, compared to a lot of other consumer products, the gun industry is not a huge industry. The gun industry describes itself as important when it wants to talk about job creation and how regulations would hurt these jobs, but they don't actually employ that many people.

I consider this to be an optismistic piece. I look forward in seeing the day that the NRA falls off a cliff. But WE have to do it together, as the article says.

Roughly triple that in global sales. A mid size industry. But it does employ more than ten thousand people, those are the numbers counted for just the manufacturing end. You also need to take into consideration the retail end, lots of mom and pop gun shops that employ people, not to mention the larger chains.

The gun lobby doesnt have power because it has money.

The gun lobby has power because it has tens and tens of millions of votes.

I dont get why people seem to forget this.

The tipping point has come and gone.

Colorado passed some gun laws because Bloomberg and The White House were involved.

New York and some Northeast states passed more gun control because they have always been anti-gun anyway.

Federally its going to be lucky to get worthwhile background checks.

As the country blueifies and populates, UK and Japan type laws will be come to be.

Even Scalia agrees.

"Even Scalia agrees"

by affirming that owning guns is an individual right, that owning handguns is 100% protected, and ruling that all guns in common use are constitutional to own he agrees with banning guns?

LOL

Too bad the four idiots on the jury I served on regarding your alerted post above didn't see fit to hide your post - but I hope MIRT takes a look.
