http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/03/18/conservatives-frustrated-with-paul-ryans-same-ol-same-ol-budget-ideas/Conservatives all over the place are upset about Paul Ryans budget plan, idealistically called The Path to Prosperity. This years Ryan budget is basically recycled from last year, which sought only to cut spending and taxes, and relied on repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Ryan is currently chairman of the House Budget Committee, so coming up with a budget plan is part of his job, however, with so many conservatives slamming him for it, one would think hed come up with something else.

Others are worried about the budget being so unpopular that it will cost the GOP more seats in the House and Senate, and the presidency in 2016. GOP strategist Dick Morris is upset about messing too much with Medicare and Medicaid, and wonders why the party would consider putting forth a budget plan that balances the budget quickly at the expense of elections all up and down the line for the next decade.

People like Morici, Morris, and others are right to be concerned about the partys competitiveness with intransigent, inflexible people like Ryan steering budgetary policy and other policy. Theyre still doing their weve-got-the-right-message-but-its-not-being-delivered-properly dance. Perhaps Brent Bozell, a conservative activist who spoke at CPAC, said it best: Do yourself and your country a favor: take that budget back and return with a new one.

(24,392 posts)2. They all thought that it was great in 2011 and in 2012
why are they running from it now? Besides, it's not like they're planning on embracing anything more progressive, are they???

(20,818 posts)3. The point of the budget is to self promote Paul Ryan
not to actually be enjoyed by anyone. Had they nicely told him to f off the first time he rolled it out they could complain. Since it got him the VP ticket last year... why on Earth would he not keep rolling the same tired act out. Paul Ryan plans to ride his greatest hits tour all the way to the 2016 ticket. He doesn't care if "they" win. Why should a republican care about "they". He is in it for Paul Ryan. Is that a shock?
