What we lost in the Iraqi War cannot be measured...

We not only lost thousands of lives and tens of thousands wounded for life, but we lost trillions of dollars in costs and lost productivity.

But, we lost part of our soul, also. When we disregarded the rules of the Geneva Conventions and accepted torture as a common necessity of war, we lost something that cannot be regained.

We remember the photos from Abu Graib and the transfer of prisoners of war to other countries to be tortured. We still have prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

We had leaders that lied to our faces and were never held accountable. There is no justice to be had - only sorrow.
