(9,033 posts)but Westboro's antics are designed to provoke an anti-civil rights response (where the offenders can then be sued) so I'm guessing they are well aware of what retaliation could cost them.

(838 posts)There are what, 120+ Phelps family/WBC members? They are a handful of extremely loud social pariahs from which even the KKK keeps its PR distance. I want to see a small city of these pop up around the WBC compound!!!
Yup. They only care about making noise, having their rights stepped on, and then profiting from it. Hucksters, the lot of them.
The best way to deal with them is to laugh at them and then ignore them.
The real threats are the ones that aren't out there protesting, but plotting real hate crimes.

(30,151 posts)Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet
It takes the form of a multicoloured arc, with red on the outside and violet on the inside. Even though a rainbow spans a continuous spectrum of colours, traditionally the full sequence of colours is most commonly cited as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. It is commonly thought that indigo was included due to the different religious connotations of the numbers six and seven at the time of Isaac Newton's work on light, despite its lack of scientific significance and the poor ability of humans to distinguish colours in the blue portion of the visual spectrum.

(35,699 posts)He probably could have gotten the house for a lot less if he had been willing to walk away - that was my point.

(9,033 posts)Their whole schtick is about provoking civil rights violations against themselves so that they can sue.
I'm sure they are well aware of the possible consequences if they should violate someone else's...it could put them out of business, which would be a crying shame.

(26,619 posts)But my little RW, anti regulation town has a color code. Such good Republicans. Whenever a local teabagger gripes to me about "job killing government regulations" I say, look at the regulations for our little town of 400 year round residents and nothng but regulations hating GOP on this town board.
