Nixon officially worse person than GWB

With the revelations of his treasonous sabotage of the Paris Peace Talks, Nixon, who was in the lead anyway for being a more miserable person than G W Bush, now cements his status as the worse person to hold the presidency.
W was still a worse President though.

point is that for most of the people in positions of very high power, maintaining that power is their top priority and they are willing to sacrifice anything--even other people's lives--to keep it.

At least Nixon resigned in shame. Dubya still arrogantly maintains he was right.

Nixon also was President during the enactment of many landmark environmental laws. Of course, he was still a Tricky Dick.

Santa Barbara was the site of one of America's worst oil spills (#3 behind the Gulf and Alaska spills), and the Cuyahoga River in Ohio actually caught fire. Both occurred in 1969, and resulted in a lot of public support for the environmental movement.

to tell him not to make a deal with the Palestinians brokered by Clinton. Because the Bush Crime Family was sure to win and would get him a better deal. Remember, Nixon had others do his dirt for him. Just like junior. Same shit different asshole.

matters is still a betrayal. So I stand by what I posted. Who was Mr. Perle at the time to interfere with this process?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2000/jul/13/israel2

The Middle East peace talks at Camp David became the subject of a political scandal in the US last night when reports emerged that one of George W Bush's foreign policy advisers had warned the Israeli delegation to be prepared to walk out of negotiations.
Richard Perle, a veteran cold war warrior and former assistant secretary of state, urged the Israeli prime minister, Ehud Barak, not to agree to any settlement which left the future status of Jerusalem unresolved, according to the New York Post website.

The website quoted a message received by Mr Barak yesterday from two of his emissaries, Yoram Ben-Ze'ev and Yossi Alpher. The two men said Mr Perle "asked us to send a clear message" to Mr Barak that it would be a "catastrophe" if the Jerusalem question was not dealt with, and urged him "to walk away" from the Camp David negotiations if faced with that outcome.

Mr Bush's office had no comment on the report yesterday. Mr Ben-Ze'ev, contacted by mobile phone, said he was in Houston, Texas - Governor Bush's home state - but would not explain the purpose of his visit and also refused to comment on the newspaper report.

Nixon was, by any sensible measure, an Evil Motherfucker. On the other hand, he was only half as conservative, and one hundred times smarter, than Dubya. And Nixon was behind a lot more positive measures than Dubya ever dreamed of. Like I say, it's a tough call.....

The Dick, so when you blame one, you have to include the other.

Quite a pair. Neither have compassion for anything beyond themselves, both are experts at lying and both thrive when in power. Only difference was, Cheney never gave up the power and W wasn't ambitious enough to fight for it for long.

Now, W is painting puppies and Cheney is being kept alive by robotic machinery. Who knows when that machine will throw a cog?

You may recall he traded military supplies (spare fighter jet parts) to the Iranians so they would hold US hostages longer thereby killing Carter's chances in the up coming election. Exactly the same thing as Nixon did.

He had nothing but contempt for the weaker members of society, for the working person, for the environment, for liberals. He accused Carter of being a "tax-and-spend Democrat", then proceeded to double the national debt in 8 short years by cutting taxes for his rich buddies and spending massive amounts of money on "gold-plated military hardware". He was involved with Iran-contra, which ranks right up there with Nixon's Vietnam transgression. So I rate him as second-worst, right behind Duh-byuh.
