UPI estimates that Iraq has cost the American people $2.2 Trillion over the past 10 years.
We went to Iraq ostensibly to deliver a heaping tablespoon of shock and awe to make sure the world would know you just can't kill American's like that.
In the ensuing 10 years:
We spent about $800 million for every man, woman, and child killed on 9/11.
We asked 1.6 America soldiers to give their life for every man, woman and child killed on 9/11.
We saw killed 363 citizens of the world for every man, woman, and child killed on 9/11.
All in the name of "never again".
Over the next ten years - will we spend $16 billion, will we ask 32 American soldiers give their lives, will we see over 7,000 citizens of the world killed so that we can say "Sandy Hook - never again".
I doubt it. Somehow is seems that those 20 lives don't have the same value to us as a Country. I wonder why.
