A jury found a Sumner County woman guilty on all counts in the deaths of her newborn twins.

GALLATIN, TN (WSMV) - A jury found a Sumner County woman guilty on all counts in the deaths of her newborn twins.

Lindsey Lowe had been charged with two counts each of first-degree murder, first-degree pre-meditated murder and aggravated child abuse after she was accused of murdering her sons after they were born in September 2011.

The murder charges carry an automatic life sentence, and a hearing is set for May 2 for sentencing in the lesser charges.

The jury deliberated for about two hours Tuesday following more than five days of testimony.

However, I followed the trial and I wasn't convinced of the premeditated conviction. I definitely believe she knew she was pregnant, but the evidence didn't show me that she planned to kill them before the day they were born. The evidence did convince the jury, though.

I just don't understand how things could be that you could kill your newborn twins and just call in sick to work as if nothing happened. Then making concert plans.

Anyway, two new lives lost and a young woman in prison for life.

delivered twins and then the thought, "I must get rid of the babies", and proceeded to kill them, it was premeditated.

I guess it's just so hard for me to think of a young woman delivering her twins in the toilet, killing them, and cleaning up the mess afterwards when there are options out there.

I don't want to think there are people that unfeeling; but I know there are.

Most cities have no questions asked drop off at local hospitals. Too bad she couldn't have done that.

"Well, at least she didn't have an abortion!" You know, I live in Tennessee, and I'll bet my lungs that if she DID have an abortion her fundie friends and neighbors would probably hate her more than for her heinous crime. That's how fucked-up these people are. And I have not heard one line written about whether she even considered an abortion, and why she never sought one, but I bet it was because she knew she would be castigated and shunned. Her crime was unforgiveable, but I have to wonder how trapped she felt in that enviroment.

I wouldn't be betting those lungs of yours unless you're a smoker and need a new set.

Abortion and whether she thought of it our not couldn't be brought up because her defense was that she didn't know she was pregnant with twins for nine months.

Her parents have stood by her, btw, since the very beginning. I don't have a clue as to their political leanings and really don't give a shit at this moment. It didn't have anything to do with abortion as her parents would have never needed to know.
