HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
A recent Australian report highlighted by ABC World News indicated that children could be the worst driving distraction on the road. Many midstate parents agreed.
Many admitted driving with kids can be a hassle; they make demands and even give their own driving tips.
" My son says) 'mommy go faster, go faster, go faster," Carlisle parent Connie Seversen said.
And kids don't often hesitate to voice their concerns.

Time to ban kids to make us all safer.
No kids, guns, smoking, sugar, pit bulls, or olive garden. Bit lots and lots of bubble wrap.

(14,400 posts)but my oldest once beaned me in the back of the head with her sippy cup while I was taking her to day care.
I was trying to keep my eye on merging traffic while moving to get into my upcoming exit lane. She then decided that I deserved a shot to the cranium so I got it.
I managed to stay conscious and we made it to day care although I think she picked up a few words that I wasn't too happy were now in her vocabulary.

(3,894 posts)every day of their lives. We could talk but not loudly. No fussing or carrying on, and if the driver (me generally) said any number of alarm words, like traffic, then immediate silence till the okay was given. They even cordially forced kids not used to rules in the car behave when we pooled.
I think we don't need to ban children, but we do need to let them know of the serious nature driving is through conversation but also action. It doesn't help when most parents are such inattentive drivers, talking on the phone, and attending the DVR and being bad examples of the serious nature of driving. Autos I believe are still the #1 cause of death, particularly among the young.
