9. Two million rejections does not equal two million felons not buying a gun

They simply couldn't buy from that particular dealer. Doesn't mean they didn't illegally get a gun later on.

Of course it helps; not being able to buy from a dealer limits your options to the scattered secondary market.

Universal background checks would be effective. Even more so when combined with yearly purchase and selling limits.
