If you donated to Planned Parenthood today, join us!

We gave Planned Parenthood a little money today. PP was my care provider as a single woman with no health insurance. They answered my questions, counseled me on birth control, and I could afford to be seen, no matter how little money I had.

If you sent 'em some money (or even if you didn't,) let's hear your story.

I left Curves as quickly as possible after finding out the founder was supporting organizations I don't support with my own money.

Every woman deserves affordable, comprehensive health care.

I love the fact the donations are pouring in.

I'm also loving the fact that there will be a lot more women resisting the October "pinkwashing" next year.

I am going to review it and consider increasing it. This weekend though. Too braindead after work to think about money.

And over-population is a HUGE threat to the environment. Most people just don't get it. The LAST thing we need is a war on family planning. And it IS a war. And I really don't understand why the other side is fighting it. Ok strike that. I do understand: For them, population doesn't matter. They are indifferent to the effect on the environment. Babies don't actually matter (although that's not what they'll tell you), It's really ALL about, and ONLY about, controlling women. The side-effect that their policies increase population growth which hastens the destruction of the planet, for ALL our grandkids, is totally beyond their comprehension, even if they might care a little if they understood it. They can't care because they don't comprehend. Not one fucking bit. All they care about is regaining their control over the other half of the population NOTHING else matters. NOTHING.

/soliloquy. (I should probably go to bed now.)

night when I first read about what happened, and then this afternoon.

I have never used PP but I like the fact that they help people.

And, I want to add, I found this on Facebook:

They're brave. HOW many attacks have there been on Planned Parenthood clinics around the country over the years?

Great e-card. It's always good to know which entities believe women aren't deserving of basic, affordable health care.

Many of us didn't use "birth control" for birth control.

Many of us used (use) it to have regular periods.. instead of always being off schedule.. kinda sucks to have to have "surprises" and ruin you pants, cute underwear and other problems.

and some of us use them to lessen the horrific cramps..

and some of us use them as we go through menopause..

And Planned Parenthood was often the place we could get this medicine when we didn't have a job, or money or healthcare.

Feb 2012

I have used Planned Parenthood many times in my life.

As a scared teenager,I used Planned Parenthood when I thought I was pregnant. The nurse practitioner tested me for VD and did a pregnancy test. I had the clap, but wasn't pregnant. This was in 1976.She prescribed penicillin for me,taught me about safe sex and put me on the pill.I went to Planned Parenthood yearly for pap smears,VD tests, and Birth control(hey-this was the 70's and 80's).So did most of my very proper San Angelo,Texas friends. When my best friend got pregnant, the planned parenthood in San Angelo helped her find a facility that would safely terminate her 4-week pregnancy. We drove to Austin,Texas. One of the volunteers in San Angelo paid for a tank of gas for my friend.
I have had many friends and patients who have received most of their care through Planned Parenthood.Contrary to popular belief, they care for male and female, gay and straight. They care...no fancy pink.
I will always be grateful for the non-judgemental care we received.I will always support them.
