Church Meeting
Thank you to all our new sponsors, your support helps our independent broadcasting efforts more than you know! But PLEASE send us your mailing address for your FREE thank-you cookies! Gotta make an honest Brownie out of Molly! Email kathy@mikemalloy.com if you neglected to provide a mailing address with your recent sponsorship, and thanks so much!
Yes, its church night on the Malloy Show! Grab your prayer book and join the congregation as we discuss why the Susan G Komen breast cancer foundation is working to end womens privacy rights. Thats right, a pro-women organization working against women, for right-wing religious purposes, of course. Can I get an amen?
And whats all this ruckus about married priests and the Catholic Church? Its not what you think. Plus, theres been a new discovery in evolutionary genetics that should shock the rapture-ready righties outta their hoods.
Join Mike tonight for an interesting refresher in comparative religion on church night! Shout Hallelujah and join us around the sacred campfire LIVE at 9PM ET! 877-996-2556

(18,531 posts)I sent my 2 cents with a little extra. This crap has to stop. Why do these freaks insist on politicizing women's health, or anyone else's for that matter. They just oppose abortion and privacy because it's always been a democratic issue. They make me sick. But abortion would be just fine if one of them got pregnant. Assholes.

I really hate phony nonprofits that pay their execs x00,000.00 a year and strongarm employers into getting staff to donate. United Way & Komen pulled that when I worked for A Major Aviation Corporation. I preferred to give a couple of dollars a day to Cindy, who lived under a freeway with her dog Darren.

(43,853 posts)I'd have given my money to Cindy and Darren as well. I'll never buy any of their pink shit ever again.

(43,853 posts)ORLANDO, FLA day after losing the Florida primary, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich told reporters his biggest regret in the Sunshine State was "not getting out there and doing more Jew stuff." "I should have worn one of those little beanies around more often, had a photo op with a rabbi, and, you know, just Jewed things up a bit more," <snip>

(43,853 posts)132-Room Estate Includes Personal Chef, 24-Hour Security Detail
WASHINGTONOver the past three years, as the sluggish economy has forced many Americans to tighten their belts, President Obama has reportedly enjoyed a lavish personal lifestyle, residing with his family in a 132-room house staffed by a 24-hour security detail, five full-time chefs, and a live-in maid service.
In recent weeks, many of the president's critics have seized upon the issue, arguing that anyone who sleeps in a sprawling six-level neoclassical mansion covering 18 acres of Washington, D.C.'s most valuable real estate is clearly out of touch with the lives of ordinary citizens.
"What message does it send to the American people when their president is living in a ritzy palatial estate at the same time they're struggling to keep their heads above water?" political strategist Robert T. Carlson said Wednesday, noting that Obama's gated home features a lush rose garden, a private balcony, an ostentatious room seemingly devoted to the color blue, a solarium, "fancy portraits" of John F. Kennedy and George Washington, and a movie theater. "So much for all that 'shared sacrifice' he keeps talking about."
"And just look at those gaudy columned porticoes," Carlson continued. "It must have cost a fortune to build that place." <snip>

Today kicked off birthday month here, and Lucas and my late mother-in-law shared a birthday today. He wanted chicken parmesan for dinner, and we're watching a DVD of Chris Farley's old SNL skits and laughing our asses off.
Take care and Keep It Lit!

Phil Hartman is on this DVD more than once, and I'm still stunned at times when I remember that he's deceased.
RIP Don Cornelius....the Soul Train line won't be the same.

(10,419 posts)Happy Birthday(s)!
Love old SNL shows. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I just can't stand Kristen Wiig and quit watching over the past couple of years.
Not to worry - we always have the Republican debates.

(16,529 posts)Hoping that all is well! I really like the oldies, too. This DVD has Phil Hartman on it and I still get kinda stunned when I realize that Chris and Phil are deceased.
I can only take those debates in small doses, kinda like around here...Idiots on Parade, so I catch snippets, etc. I suppose I prefer my comedy when people intend to be funny, and not evil clowns.

(10,419 posts)I was driving home from work and literally did a double-take at the car radio.
Did anyone ever do Barbara Bush better than Phil? Remember when she and Nancy (Jan Hooks) had a knock-down/drag out about moving out of the White House?
My favorite Phil character was Gene, the Anal Retentive Chef. ("Now we'll dice our peppers...oh no, we can't use that one - or that one...so we place our discards on a paper towel, squaring the corners..."
I miss him so much.

(32,015 posts)Pre-show: "So Much to Say" by Dave Matthews Band (sometime around 8:55 ET)
The song right before the opening theme music: "Aretha" by Rumer
To my fellow Truthseekers living in California especially the Bay Area and northbound: it is possible to hear the Malloy show over AM radio earlier than 960 KNEW's sleepy 1AM-3AM timeslot.
- KTLK 1150, the 50 KW prog talker from Los Angeles, plays Malloy 8-10PM with the first 2 hours. KTLK can be heard in the SFBA during those hours over the background static. And of course if you're in places like Bakersfield, Santa Barbara, Fresno, or maybe San Bernardino KTLK will sound even better.
- KPOJ 620, a 25 KW day/10 KW night prog talker from Portland, plays the full show 9PM-12AM right after the live show is over. From my experience listening to KPOJ's nighttime blast in my area, it cuts in and out because another 620 AM station from Fresno (which runs only 1 KW) interferes, and there are already local stations on 610 and 630. However, KPOJ will have better reception if you're somewhere like Chico or Eureka.
thank you
