Will the media ever call out Trump for his Birther investigator lies?
Back during last year's Birther-a-palooza, you'll remember Donald Trump claimed he had a team of investigators in Hawaii that were finding "amazing things" that they couldn't believe. Yet, funny how, after President Obama humiliated Trump at the correspondent's dinner, we never heard a word about this claim again.
Trump repeated this lie endlessly on channel after channel, and it's pathetic how the media still gives him a forum without even once asking him what became of this fake investigative team.
Just this weekend, Trump was given time on Face the Nation with Bob Scheiffer. You'd think Scheifffer, who I've always thought of as a real journalist would be hesitant to give a forum to a proven liar. But there he was, getting nothing but softball questions. And he's received the same treatment from Piers Morgan, Good Morning America and his good friend, Barbara Walters over the past month. Not one mention of his fake investigators in the interviews.
I know they have him on for the ratings, but are the media really so starstruck by this reality TV freakshow, that they can't to ask him about his tendency to lie to the press on a regular basis? Will they ever confront him on his claims?
The man has zero credibility on anything. Is journalism seriously so dead that a person can just go on TV and spew what ever nonsense that they want and no one calls them on it?
And what about his promised tax returns? We're still waiting on those, too.
