They don't give two shits about you
They think you should pay $900 dollars for prescriptions and like it.
They think you should go to your neighbors and beg for money for cancer treatments etc.
They think poor women should not get mammograms
They think it ok to be dumb and ignorant

(24,096 posts)that there is (or appears to be in most cases) SUCH a huge divide on how a repuglican thinks and how a democrat thinks. Now we sure have our share of fuckhead democrats but I'd take the worst of the worst of Dems compared to a Pug.
Does the club just Attract this kind of low intel person or do these people who are born with the crazy just gravitate to the Pugs?

(24,096 posts)people that make my skin crawl (especially ones that 'brag' about being good Christians but are really mean assholes in how they conduct themselves) usually are at the conservative end.
Maybe it's just a good/evil thing

(5,937 posts)It's a close call between registered republicans and democrats. So I suppose give or take a few percentage points, about half the country is evil.

(50,130 posts)They often did not experience unconditional love when they were children. This deep-seated resentment and bitterness colors the whole life long. Textbook case is Karl Rove, whose childhood was like something from a Hollywood script. Father left the home on Christmas Day. etc.
People who have been loved unconditionally are generous of spirit. They can love freely, and feel and show compassion and empathy even for people unlike them.
John Dean explains the phenomenon as authoritarianism -- a kind of mental disorder.
Of course, they have been manipulated by world-class propagandists, in the most classic ways. Taught to hate people not like them.

(121 posts)When all the sordid details are sorted out and people see what the real results of their arcane policies are, it's really all about greed. It's rich people using every bit of influence their money can buy to funnel more money to themselves. And to Hell with everyone else, as long as they get fat wallets out of it then it doesn't matter who starves or dies from lack of medical care or from an illness caused by unsafe working conditions or freezes to death trying to sleep in a dark alley.
There are all kinds of policies to distract from this simple fact.
Greed.

(624 posts)I bet you wouldn't call your republican family members sick and evil
And that's where the problem lies , we all call republican sick and evil until it comes to the people we know and our family members then we give them a pass
This simple point makes most Democrats hypocrites

(3,788 posts)But they don't get a free pass from me. The ones on my husbands side though...they are not evil in the least but they don't really care about us-we are not part of the clique-they only came to see my FIL once in the hospital( he had a bypass and was on a vent for almost 2 months due to only having one lung) because the hospital was in Detroit. They weren't around for my MIL after my FIL's funeral plus they haven't asked once how my husband has been doing since having his second cervical fusion in 6 months(the 1st one failed).

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughts on Right to Work. As you are aware, this has been a polarizing issue that has attracted quite a bit of attention in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. I truly appreciate your input on this important matter.
I have been a consistent supporter of this measure during my time in the Indiana Senate. I firmly believe that by enacting this legislation, we can strengthen Indiana's economic attractiveness.
Over the summer, the Interim Study Committee on Employment Issues took over 20 hours of testimony on the issue. There were a number of arguments made both in favor and in opposition to the bill. While many opponents believe the bill will weaken or destroy unions, lower wages, and allow free-riders on the backs of union dues-payers, the bill simply allows individuals to refrain from contributing to unions.
The bill is not an attack on unions. It is rather a means to ensure an individual's freedom of association. If you so choose, you can still pay union dues and you can still work with your union to collectively bargain with your employer. However, if you do not wish to contribute, you will not be forced to as a condition of employment.
Unions still exist in right to work states and in some cases they are stronger and have a higher percentage of membership than unions in Indiana. The unions in these states have proven to their members and to the workforce that they are a valuable asset. I believe that if Indiana's unions prove their worth by providing services that are in the best interests of their membership, they will thrive in Indiana.
Indiana has created an attractive business environment. But ever since last year, our neighboring states have become nervous because they feel that if Indiana is a Right to Work state, we will be more attractive to companies wishing to expand or relocate. They have begun to look into enacting similar laws themselves. Last year, we brought in a record number of new jobs and companies to Indiana, but we cannot rest. We must stay competitive and Right to Work will help us to do so. Until we are number one in job creation and ranked number one by site selectors, we will do everything we can to get there.
Once again, thank you very much for informing me of your opinions on this important issue. I truly appreciate your active participation and welcome your continued input on all issues pertaining to state government.
Sincerely,
Phil Boots
