Not happy about this. Ashley Judd will not run for Senate.

Ashley Judd will NOT be running for the U.S. Senate in 2014.

The actress-activist announced her decision on Twitter on Wednesday, following weeks of serious speculation that she’d challenge Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in Kentucky.

“After serious and thorough contemplation, I realize that my responsibilities & energy at this time need to be focused on my family,” explained Judd.

She continued, “Regretfully, I am currently unable to consider a campaign for the Senate.

You know, when Hillary wins in 2016, one of the things I look forward to hearing are the screams of so many who think that she is a liberal. The DLC is the compotent wing of the Republican party.

She'll be past the divorce thing by then
The interim time can help her to prepare
It will be a presidential year with a better turnout

They think they've got a better chance with some other more experienced candidate.

I think they're wrong. Sure it wouldn't be easy for her but she might have a chance because of the novelty against stodgy old Mitch McConnell.

Putting up any standard Dem candidate is a waste of time and money.

McTurtle has it in the bag -- again.

sigh.
