Why Sherrod Brown Is Wall Street's Biggest Nightmare In Washington DC

http://www.businessinsider.com/sherrod-brown-wall-street-big-banks-2013-3

With the impending retirement of Sen. Tim Johnson (D-S.D.), a vacancy will open up at the top of the Senate Banking Committee – and Wall Street lobbyists are terrified that one raspy-voiced man from Ohio will step in to fill the post.

Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown has kept a relatively low-profile since his election to the Senate in 2006. But behind-the-scenes, he has built up a reputation as biggest bank-buster in the Democratic Party, superseding even Massachusetts' Sen. Elizabeth Warren as the top bogeyman for financial industry lobbyists.

Since the passage of the Dodd-Frank financial reform bill, Brown has become the leading voice in the Senate calling for breaking up big banks, introducing legislation in the last Congress that would have ensured that no bank held more than 10 percent of total insured deposits and capped non-deposit liabilities at 2 percent of GDP.

In practice, that measure would have forced the six biggest banks — Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley — to shrink significantly, effectively putting an end to financial institutions that are "Too Big To Fail."

A Midwesterner with common sense.

A Wall Street outsider.

Not a great voice, but at least a voice with a personality.

Sincere. As honest as they come.

A good man.

But he is a white male so he needs someone for his VP who could compliment him well. Just who will become clear over time.

By no means my final choice, but a very good choice.

The one bright spot in Ohio these days. You are fantastic and I am proud to be able to vote for you. Thank you for all that you do for the American people and the citizens of this planet!

.... usually seen at the elbow of Sen Elizabeth Warren. It has been said that Wall Street is going to do it again, since they got away with the first heist. If and when it happens, Sherrod Brown will be there to clean up the mess with Elizabeth Warren, and no effing bailouts anymore. Those two are going to lead the way in laying a cog in the wheel, bringing it all to a screeching halt. I would love to be a fly on the wall when those two get together to plot their moves.
They are laying in wait, getting ready to pounce as soon as it happens.

and Cyprus and other parts of the world.

They will try it again. They are doing it right now but kind of behind the scenes with interest rate manipulation and heavy borrowing.

We have to end some of our trade agreements, impose some tariffs and protect jobs at home in order to have a functioning economy and a healthy banking system.

Since unfortunately we keep hearing how powerless the President is, it would seem the most important place for Senators Warren and Brown to be is in the Senate, crafting the legislation that will actually bring too big to fail under control. I would love to vote for either of them as president, but that work is so important, we need them there.

But they will need to remain squeaky clean and very safe.
