"Either by ballots or by bullets we are going to get you out of office."

This is who you stand with when you stand against gun safety legislation.

For the second time in a month a man has been arrested, accused of sending threats to a state lawmaker because of their stance on gun control measures.

David Cassidy has been charged with harassment and attempting to influence a public official after he allegedly left a threatening voice mail for Sen. Andrew Kerr, a Democrat representing Lakewood.

Kerr said he believed this message crossed the line: "Andy Kerr, you and the rest of the communist Democrats are going to regret what you’re doing. Either by ballots or by bullets we are going to get you out of office."

Domestic terrorism is the unlawful use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual based and operating entirely within the United States or Puerto Rico without foreign direction committed against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof in furtherance of political or social objectives.

cut down on the number of such threats, I'm quite certain. Make sending a death threat a felony, too. That way, after being convicted, the assholes wouldn't legally be able to own firearms at all.

Not enough room in the prisons? Release everyone who is in there for simple possession of drugs. That's easy. Fill the prisons with violent assholes who terrorize people with threats.

When I suggested that the U.S. shouldn't take it's civil rights queues from the former head of the KGB he unfriended me.

In my experience with this type, they don't know history. They don't know definitions, either. They are stimulated into "Chicken Littles" by digesting a steady diet of fear.

I know I am taking a long way around to answer your question of "How many of these stains do we still have roaming around?" My answer, based on the 2012 election, approximately 56,145,950 people.

The funny thing about Paulbots is how they say they don't subscribe to either party yet spend 95% of the time insulting and calling for insurrection against ONE party (hint: It's the one that DOESN'T start with "R&quot . I worked with a guy, years ago,who was arrested and charged with "making terroristic threats",after telling a school bus driver who had slapped his little brother, that if he ever did it again,he (my co-worker)would kick drivers butt.Serious charge.Very serious, and with serious prison time for conviction.

I can't understand how threatening the use of bullets is not the same. That David Cassidy has been charged with harassment and attempting to influence a public official,is well and good, but I'm not sure those charges carry the appropriate weight they should,as would making terroristic threats.

The making terroristic threats charge my co-worker faced, which later were downgraded, was a very serious felony.I believe harassment is a misdemeanor and I suspect attempting to influence a public official might be also.

So this guy pays a fine comparable to a parking ticket.Maybe picks up a little trash along a roadway for a few hours. Then goes right back to making threats.Or worse.Actually carries out his threats.

What the hell!?!?!

I think the words in the bus driver's threat didn't really meet the qualifications for the charge of "making terroristic threats", and the threat was over an individual incident, which is probably why his charge was downgraded.

David Cassidy's words, on the other hand, (in my layman's opinion) do rise to the serious level of "terroristic threat", because they are aimed at a legislator in his function as a member of a group (legislator) and the words used involve a threat of death.

I hope the prosecutor upgrades the charges.

...In fact, he called Kerr a week later to try to explain himself, “I’m not threatening you in any way. I’ve never threatened you in any way.”

“What I said was meant in a figure of speech. I meant it as a hyperbole. It could have very well been, ‘We’re going to remove you from office by hook or by crook,’” said Cassidy.

Police believe otherwise and investigated the voice mails which resulted in charges against Cassidy...

I can just hear the quiver in that weaseling voice now...
