Does anyone else participate in other forums?

I was recently forced into a premature retirement. Facing far too much time on my hands I began to search for ways and means of absorbing time , with some purpose. Eventually I began to hunt for political forums.
I currently participate here and on the Topix forum.
Topix is dominated by Conservatives and I find myself there engaged in debate with multiple partners. The texture of the output is far more coarse and some exchanges are personal and pointed. Being the opposition there certainly puts a target on your back and lends itself to heavy give and take.
Here at DU I feel far more at home and feel less pressed to score points. This lends it's self to more thought out response.
I was only curious if anyone else participates outside of this forum and what are your thoughts on the contrasts.
I am not attempting to recruit you for Topix, although at times Allies are welcome

I gave up trying to comment on political issues, and many of the RWNJ commenters make *everything* a political issue, even restaurant reviews!
