Marie Osmond supports marriage equality

They just chose Marie Osmond as "person of the week" on ABC news... I did not know that Mormon raised Marie Osmond has a gay daughter and is in support of marriage equality.

Glad to hear it.

She may be the only Osmond who does, but good for her for making a public stand.

I watched 'Sister Wives' one night and they were being interviewed. The interviewer asked what they would do if one of their kids ended up being gay. One of the wives said, "With so many kids the odds are pretty good that at least a couple of them will be." (paraphrased 'cuz my memory isn't great)

They all nodded in agreement and mentioned that it would tough because of all the negativity towards the LGBT community.

Thought that was pretty cool. They say they aren't Mormon, but they follow the same stuff.

Most people who have raised children know that they are who they are from the start. You don't make children gay or straight and you can't change them. Mothers know this. And mothers who love their children want them to be happy and loved and treated fairly.

...there are 'parents' that will disown their own children for being gay. I don't understand that. My son and I disagree on a lot of things, but he's my son. I can't imagine turning my back on him like that.

I met a woman at a Democratic Party meeting who became active in PFLAG and Dem politics after she found out her daughter was gay.

but not that he was gay. She has also had some struggles with depression. But she seems to have come through it as a strong person.
