North Korea is the optional war the Pentagon really wants, not one with Iran.

a war with North Korea will let them use air power, ground troops and tanks just like an old fashioned conventional war.
It's the kind of war the Pentagon loves and wants badly to conduct.
They have the toys and are like junkies with a syringe full of drugs.
They are going to try to use sooner or later.

there's nothing to indicate that anyone in the Pentagon wants a war with North Korea.

then why didn't they declare war when N. Korea attacked S. Korea twice since 2010?
When a NK sub sank a SK Frigate with significant loss of life, why not then?
How about when NK shelled a SK island and killed 2 civilians and 2 SK Marines, why not then?

North Korea's threatening rhetoric has reached a fevered pitch, but the Pentagon and the South Korean government have said it's nothing new.

"We have no indications at this point that it's anything more than warmongering rhetoric," a senior Washington defense official said late Friday.

Nobody wants war on the Korean Peninsula, it would send the world economy into a tailspin. It would cause wholesale slaughter of soldiers and civilians alike.
Where's your proof?

thousands of US troops coming home in body bags. No one does. Not to mention chem weapons, maybe even dirty bombs or a nuclear weapon, China involvement...To suggest this is crazy. Edit to add: their increased attention and concern is not to drum up support like Bush did with Iraq--it's because they're afraid something WILL spark a war. They're trying to head that off.

Please point to the remotest evidence that the Pentagon or the Administration has any desire for a war with North Korea.
