http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/02/03/jack-abramoff-launches-blog-dedicated-to-rooting-out-corruption/Super-lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who became the poster boy for government corruption during the George W. Bush administration, has been born again as a corruption-fighter.
His new blog, Republic Report, carries the slogan Investigating how money corrupts democracy. The blog is run in cooperation with United Republic, a group dedicated to getting corporate money out of politics

Something tells me this is the biggest B.S. scam to come from his yet. Something also tells me that this is going to be written for wingnuts and it is going to be investigating just Democratic corruption.

(35,211 posts)proceeding with caution, of course, but he's associating himself with some real journalists and taking on the Koch Brothers.
With Abramoff's inside knowledge, this could get juicy.

(10,857 posts)Grover Norquist bumps around Capitol Hill, extorting "donations" and support from conservatives who don't want Grover to drum up a primary challenger against them.
Jack will be turning up dirt, all right, but he'll never do more than hint at it while he receives "support" from the backers he threatens to expose.
I'm sure he'll happily light on fire those who don't support him, though. But it won't be honest or impartial, and it will be very, very far from legitimate.
(Edit: Grover and Jack are as tight as peas in a pod. The first election they stole together was when Grover managed Jack's campaign to be chairman of the College Republicans. Grover got away with everything, and owes Jack a hell of a lot for that. So he seems to have introduced Jack to his own style of racket.)

(870 posts)the segment he did on 60 minutes has me thinking otherwise. I am also willing to give an evil sob like him a second chance. If someone wants to work with other people to end obscene corruption, who better than someone who knows ALL the loopholes.
Not to mention, he owes the American people this. He screwed all of us, he needs to make things right. He needs to bring down the system that eventually landed him behind bars.

He obviously is not someone you want to trust on a personal level, but if he has taken a turn to work against the machine, he can be a real contributor.
I'm not optimistic and agree with sounding a note of caution about this (Brock, for instance, had a clear break with where he came from and spelled out WHY he changed before he was accepted on "our" side), but let's see what comes out of this.
