The January Jobs Report: “Don’t Muck it Up”!

Yesterday the President participated in a news conference regarding the January, 2012 Jobs Report with cautious optimism and a message to Congress - “don’t muck it up”!

Here are the January Jobs Report figures:
1. The unemployment rate fell to 8.3 percent – the FIFTH straight month since August, 2011.
2. Employers added 243,000 non-farm payroll jobs
3. Private sector employers added 257,000 jobs
4. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the addition of 50,000 posts including 70,000 jobs in professional and business services.
5. The hard-hit construction sector improved, adding 21,000 jobs
6. Non-manufacturing activity shot up 3.8 percentage points
7. Over the PAST THREE MONTHS, employers averaged monthly job creation above 200,000

DESPITE these encouraging signs, TEA PARTIED AND ‘GROVERED’ REPUBLICAN Congressional members, 2012 Republican presidential candidates, FOXifiers and Right Wing pundits CAN’T SEEM TO EXPRESS AN OUNCE OF JOY FOR FORMERLY UNEMPLOYED AMERICANS who are now employed according to the Jobs Report – all they care about is bashing the President.

Tea Partied and ‘Grovered” House leaders BOEHNER and CANTOR went so far as to issue separate statements with the same message “We can do much better”. For ONCE I agree with them. Job creation could be “much better” IF Boehner and Cantor would allow the President’s JOBS BILL to even come to the floor of the House for a vote AND if Tea Partied and ‘Grovered’ Congressional members of the House AND Senate would stop playing shell games over extending payroll taxes for the middle class!

In short – “we can do much better “IF Tea Partied and ‘Grovered’ House and Senate members “DON’T MUCK IT UP”!

and in their sad little minds, they're making it look as if they're winning, too.

If they continue to fight a war they'd so painfully lost over 150 years ago today, what makes anyone believe they're rational?

These Cons are dangerous to this country and to their fellow Americans. I'm happy I'm seeing a stronger, more in-your-face President Obama these days, and I believe this is the one we'll be seeing when he gets his second term.
